This is clearly related to the 3D Down Jacket given its materials and design, and it's extremely well made. In fact, it makes me wish the Jacket was still available, because having owned this, I'd likely buy one having given these materials a spin.
As with all the LTT outerwear I've bought so far I've found it important to go a size up from what I'd normally buy. The zippers are a bit stiff to start with as they're water resistant, and after wearing multiple times the materials are only just starting to move more freely, but I count that as a plus for longevity.
There's a little bagginess under the arms, but layering this with something like the RGB Hoodie works very well. The pockets are plentiful and well placed on the outside, though I do miss the lack of one on the inside.
The main issue is simply when to wear it and with what. It's not well suited to rain for obvious reasons, though the materials are certainly up to it. But it's ideal for dry, colder days while moving. Definitely an early spring and late autumn vest.
Product quality was okay but having problems with the zipper not zipping up correctly. Only works like half the time.
As I ordered this vest in the winter, I haven't had much time to wear it and test it out. From my limited usage, it seems warm enough to wear in late spring or early summer. It has been pretty comfortable and the pockets are pretty good. The front pockets are a little small, but it seems like a standard vest. (I used to like wearing vests but haven't had one in a few years.) The material is nice and isn't noisy like some jackets.
The back of the vest hangs off weirdly on me, almost as if it is falling back on my shoulders and not sitting right. The arm holes are also quite big for me. I recommend getting the size you measure as if you plan to wear only the vest, and a size up if you want to wear it over a hoodie or jacket.
The vest is of great quality and feels very sturdy. It has many pockets with some having zippers which is definitely a plus. It really highlights my shoulders and pairs well with many things. It gives me just enough "armor" to be less awkward when talking with my coworkers. Would recommend.
I was rather excited for the vest when it launched. Unfortunately, it's not something I can add to my wardrobe. Here are my concerns:
1. Left-handed zipper is annoying, but not a deal-breaker. Just very odd.
2. (The fatal problem) The collar. I really don't know what is going on with it. It pokes up awkwardly into my neck weather zipped or unzipped. I'm not certain what look it was going for, maybe a popped-collar-jacket? Maybe a motorcycle vest? It's just not comfortable because of the collar issue.
Now, the jacket is otherwise of excellent quality. Warmer than it looks, pocket linings are soft, warm and weatherproof when zipped. It's lightweight, easy to clean and the materials/finish is very high quality. Overall it's impressive.
I would recommend against purchasing this model. If there was a revised version later with a different collar design, I'd have no problems picking one up.
